I didn’t think at first I could deal with this. I had been hoping and praying that it would be Chris, but I had a bad feeling in the back of my mind since the announcement was made. Watching the episode was heart-wrenching, especially because I love Brian and Stewie’s friendship. It’s like Sherlock all over again.
….It’s like Sherlock all over again…
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I’M FUCKING CRYING I REMEMBER ALL OF THESE FUCKING PERFECTLY I AM OH MY THIS HURTS ME I’M SO HAPPY THEY’RE LIKE RUBBERY AND GLITTERY AND WHAT NOT YES I REMEMBER
return of the polly pockets omg
Yeah okay. But do you remember THESE POLLY POCKETS:
Because I’m pretty sure that I still have them under my bed somewhere or something.
Actually I tried this, and it didn’t work for me. It’s possible that it’s because I usually use a laptop, and my wifi comes from the main computer, and I can’t install anything on the main computer (Dad has it password protected -_-). But in case anyone else out there wants to try, maybe it’ll work for you.
i have done the thing
CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY.
"THAT ISN’T LUBE"
God bless america someone said it
Surprisingly, My Immortal doesn’t fill the whole board.
So my uni sent out an email today.
They’re shutting down the internet at 10 PM to do an upgrade.
They said it’ll definitely be out until midnight, and intermittently not be working until 6 AM tomorrow.
It’s Friday night and I actually don’t have to get up tomorrow.
I know this comic isn’t even supposed to be ironic or anything but I can’t stop sad-laughing, because this illustrates perfectly so much that is wrong with ‘color-blindness’ and ‘gender-blindness’ and elitist pansexuality with the pansexuals/everyone else division
You’re literally stripping people of their identities, things they live with, things that help make them who they are, in order to homogenize them. You’re not ‘seeing past’ anything. You’re covering it up, ignoring it, erasing it. Whoever told you that ‘seeing past’ any part of a person was a good idea anyway??
Aside from the fact that the second picture is literally NOT what you see in any way whatsoever, given that, y’know, people have eyes and arms and aren’t gray blobs and junk, the way you imagine the world looking is HELLA FUCKING BORING!! Seriously, given the choice between seeing the world as diverse and vibrant and full of all kinds of people, and seeing the world like Night of the Faceless Heart-Eating Blob People, why would you ever even pretend to live in the latter???
they definitely see height though
Judge people on height alone!
Seems that people who “don’t see” colour/race/gender think it’s difficult to treat other human beings as equals if visible differences exist among them.
Okay, okay hold up. You guys are totally missing the point. The person who made this was not saying that they ‘see past’ anything. What they’re trying to get at here is literally what they drew; seeing the heart of a person rather than making a preference based on anything else.
Pansexuality as I understand it means that it really doesn’t matter what you are on the outside; it’s what’s inside that counts. Pansexuals fall in love with a person for who they are. Now that’s not to say that all pansexuals go by that alone. It’s highly likely that there are those who have a preference for a certain race, gender, hair colour, or whatever. But the point is that it’s possible for them to love anyone. Even if they have a preference, they could just as easily love someone who doesn’t match that because of who they are. I don’t understand why you guys are making it like it’s a bad thing to feel that way. Shouldn’t all love be mostly about the person, not their body?
I’ll tell you a personal story. Now I definitely know that I swing both ways, and possibly all ways, though I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t male or female to know for sure. Anyway, I have a slight preference for girls, so I always thought that if I wound up with a guy, he’d have to be my ‘perfect guy’ physically. I rather like tall guys, thin, dark hair, blue eyes (basically describing Benedict Cumberbatch, but we’ll ignore that), and I didn’t think that I would feel physically attracted to someone who didn’t look like that. But then I fell in love with the guy who is now my boyfriend, and guess what? He’s like the total opposite. But he’s my best friend, and we have so much in common and understand each other in a way that I’ve never felt with anyone else I’ve ever known. Bottom line being, it doesn’t matter to me that he doesn’t look like Benedict Cumberbatch. I love who he is, and that’s what’s important.
So maybe it is ‘seeing past’ in a way, but I don’t see that as a bad thing at all. This picture isn’t trying to say that everyone is stripped of their personalities. Quite the opposite. Their personalities are what matter over everything else. And it’s not trying to say that anyone who doesn’t look past certain characteristics of people is ‘below’ a pansexual person. I think what the artist was trying to accomplish was to show how they view the world, to try to help people understand pansexuality. There are some people who don’t get it, and this comic is actually a great starting place to explain what it means.
Overall, my point is that you shouldn’t be so quick to criticise, because you wind up doing exactly what you accused this person of doing: acting like you’re better because of your point of view.
